Presented by The Arts Center in cooperation with Two Rivers Performing Arts School. A courtroom has never been more lively and fun than in The Big Bad Musical! This smart and wickedly funny musical is great for actors and audiences of any age. The jury — your audience — must decide the outcome of the biggest trial ever in the fairy-tale world! The notorious Big Bad Wolf is being slapped with a class-action lawsuit by storybooks of quirky characters who want to get even: Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three Little Pigs and the Shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Using high-resolution projections, live multi-layer playback technology, and stage lighting, Murnane will project massive images on the wall in the Hansen Arts Park. These images were collected through the ice and reveal his reflections and feelings from years of ice fishing with his father, as he wondered what was going on through the hole as well as in his own life.Find out more

Mozart’s The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte) is one of his last works and an opera full of wonder, fantasy, and enchantment. A sensation since its debut in Vienna in 1791, it is a microcosm of Mozart’s mature genius. The 10 MANHATTAN SHORT finalists hail from nine countries with films from Syria, Latvia and Georgia representing their respective countries for the first time in this event. Two short films hail from Spain, the only country with multiple Final 10 selections. These Final 10 short films represent the best short films among a record 1615 submissions from 75 countries received by MANHATTAN SHORT for 2017, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films.
